Looking at the moon changes every human being. The moon is both ever present and ever changing to our eyes. This simple experience connects us with the ancient peoples of the world. The magnificent tree called the western red cedar can live for hundreds of years and is a distinctive part of our ancient forests. Its bark provided material for clothing and baskets. Its beautiful, sweet smelling wood provided homes, canoes, and carvings. The fine, close grain reminds us about the passage of time as marked by the earth and sky.
