Chin Strap, 4 plait
We designed this chin strap many years ago to use with Akubras with chin strap hooks. Although Akubra no longer manufactures hats with chin strap hooks (apart from the Aussie Slouch), Akubras are so long lasting and durable that we still offer this chin strap as a convenience for those with elderly hats. (We recommend our Stampede String for Akubras purchased now or in the last few years.)
The chin strap is hand braided in 4 strands of kangaroo leather, and will ensure that you do not lose your hat to a gust of wind. The chin strap has two flat leather tabs to attach to the chin strap hooks in some Akubra hats manufactured prior to 2017 and the Aussie Slouch. A sliding knot provides easy adjustment. Our own production, made in the USA.Do you live outside the US?
