We at David Morgan LLC, like most of the world, are impacted by the disruptions to our lives and business by COVID-19. In these stressful times, we’d like to share with you what we are doing to minimize the impact to our customers, to our staff and to our small family owned and operated business.
We remain healthy and open for business online, by phone and by mail. We follow CDC and Washington state suggested best practices, and are fortunate to have a work environment that is easily cleaned with good social distancing. Our employees, all of whom have worked at David Morgan for years, are working reduced hours, from their homes where possible, as we do our best to adapt.

Panamas — We’ve received our long-delayed Panama hat shipment! We have good stock now of almost all our panama hats, with more coming in soon. We do thank our customers for their extraordinary patience as our manufacturer got back up to speed after the state’s COVID-19 shutdown order. (7/9/20)
Stanfield’s — Stanfield’s had to shut down their manufacturing in Nova Scotia in response to the coronavirus. They are now in the process of reopening and we hope to be fully stocked by mid August. At this time, we are not accepting back orders. Please let us know by emailing [email protected] if you’d like to be notified when we have your desired Stanfield’s garment available. (6/23/20)
Prison Blues — Prison Blues has been tasked by the State of Oregon to produce cloth utility masks in response to the increased demand due to the pandemic. At this time their ability to fulfill our orders as promptly as usual is limited. We are accepting back orders for those items we don’t have in stock, and will update customers if delays increase. Returns and Exchanges — We are accepting orders, exchanges and returns with our reduced staffing. Please only send us your exchanges or returns at this time if you can do so safely. Our generous 90 day return and exchange policy will be extended as needed. (4/30/20)
Akubra Hat Shipment — This past week we finally received a large shipment of Akubra hats, some of which were originally expected back in January. Delayed by global shipping disruptions, we were very pleased to have these hats! We still have a few outages, awaiting our next shipments, but most styles are well stocked, including the Kiandra. Accepting Online Orders We’ve increased our work from home capabilities, and our essential staff are processing and shipping orders, keeping our item availabilities up to date. Thanks for your support. (4/2/20)
Accepting Online Orders — We are reducing our staff to the minimum essential level effective 3/26 as we search for clarity on Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order. Returns and Exchanges — Governor Inslee has issued a “Stay Home – Stay Healthy” order for Washington state to slow the spread of COVID-19. Non-essential businesses will be closed by Wednesday March 23 for at least two weeks. Please delay sending us any items for return or exchange at this time. Our generous 90 day return and exchange policy will be extended as needed. We will update this page when we know more. (3/24/20)
Retail Store Temporarily Closed — We have temporarily closed our retail store in Bothell, Washington. We are otherwise open for business online, by phone and by mail. (3/20/20)
We are open. We are well stocked of most our inventory and usually ship orders the same business day. Consider purchasing one of our Panama Hats, ideal for walks in the neighborhood while working from home. Bring joy to your mother with an early Mother’s Day gift. We are holding our prices through the summer. Our Spring and Summer print catalog was days away from being submitted to the printer when the COVID-19 pandemic worsened. Rather than risk high printing costs and low customer response, we made the tough decision not to print. (3/17/20)
Akubra Hats. Our sea shipments from Australia have seen delays of 4 to 8 weeks, at this stage mostly from the ripple effect of so many Asian port closures. We are still well stocked of most styles, such as the Banjo Paterson but have very few Cattleman hats in our warehouse. We are accepting back orders, but the expected delivery times are longer than we like and beyond our control. Customers ordering out of stock hats will be informed of the expected delay. We do not charge for any back ordered item until we ship. (3/16/20)
