| The classic Viyella fabric was developed in England by William Hollins & Co. Ltd., textile manufacturers since 1784. It is a luxurious combination of 80% long staple cotton and 20% fine Merino wool yarns. It is gentle on the skin with enough warmth to take the edge off a cool breeze.
The US rights to use the Viyella name are held by Solimar Import/Export Corp. Under the Viyella label they offer the classic Viyella 80/20 fabric woven in England and made up into garments in the US or Asia. Other high quality fabrics, cotton or wool, are offered under the Viyella name, such as the dress quality tee shirts we supply in a very finely knit 100% cotton. |
