This is a reproduction of an argillite plate from the Canadian Museum of Civilization collection. It is 10 inches long. Plates were a chosen object for engraving larger designs, particularly among the Skidegate carvers. The halibut in this plate is in high relief, surrounded by secondary patterns. Color is argillite black. This museum quality reproduction is made from a natural resin composite to attain the heft of the argillite original. Made in Canada. Discontinued.
