Here is an unusual belt, superbly designed and executed in bridle leather. Slit braiding is a common technique used to join two or more strips of leather, either to connect them end to end or to form a thicker strip. It was used by the Mongols, was widely employed by the Germans, and is used today throughout the world by horsemen and others employing strap leather. Seldom is it seen so well done. The end is sewn double. The keeper is a sewn box style. Width is 1-1/4 inches. Hand crafted in the USA by Phillip Hawk.
This belt is sold without a buckle, in case you already own a favorite buckle. We offer a plain brass buckle separately, specially chosen to complement the belt. |
