The brooch inspiring this design was found in Maeshafn, and dated circa 50-150 A.D. The sterling silver brooch offered here is the size of the original, but the pin has been made narrower to accommodate modern fabrics. The lively primitive presentation of the ducks' heads is in keeping with the early Celtic period of origin. The Primitive Duck-Head brooch is approximately 7/8 inches in diameter.
